Right First Time

The core element of Systems improvement is Right First Time.
This ethos applies to all sectors & business models, but it is particularly important for Low Volume or Project environments. In a business where profits can be eroded by poor quality on one off products or services then all parts of the organisation must get their work right first time in order to not pass problems on towards the customer.
This is also the thinking behind the Zero Defects process developed for the Toyota Production System.
